What is a normal blood pressure?
There are two numbers to a BP (blood pressure). The higher number is called "systolic" pressure and the bottom "diastolic"
pressure. In general, the lower the number the better. Normal systolic pressure is 110-120 range and diastolic
pressure 60-70. When BP creeps to 140/90 range, then you officially have hypertension (high blood pressure) which
needs to be treated. Keep in mind that BP varies depending on your activity. It tends to be lowest first thing in
the morning when you wake up. During vigorous exercise it shoots up - this is normal. So the best time to take your BP is
in the morning.
